I’m glad I didn’t live during the 1700’s because people were brutal. I captured this during our visit to the Pirate Museum in Nassau, Bahamas. This is called a gibbet. Pirates that were condemned to death were hung in front of large crowds and the bodies of the more notorious ones were put inside these metal contraptions and displayed in front of the harbors as a deterrent to others thinking of leading that pirate lifestyle. It totally disgusts me, especially when I think children may have been exposed to such a sight. However, the shadow cast by this gibbet made for an interesting shot. By the way, the kids and I were completely creeped out as we turned the dark corner into this area where Dear Husband was hiding, waiting to startle us. Needless to say all four of us jumped and screamed in terror while he was laughing. What a turd.

What do you think of this photo? I didn’t get much excitement out of my last few posts, but I guess you can’t win them all huh? Hahaha! I would love to hear from you! Drop a line sometime!
